Dennis Hollingsworth is a Los Angeles-based abstract painter. He also spends time living and working in Tossa, Spain. Grounded in the history of paint, Hollingsworth pushes past assumptions of how a painting is made. Using self-made tools such as stamps, daubers and scrapers, he pushes, presses and dollops paint onto the surface. PR has followed Hollingsworth's work for the last ten years, watching his alla prima style push the edges of mark-making in abstract painting.

On July 1, 2003, Hollingsworth started a blog (before everyone had a blog) simply called Dennis Hollingsworth. He considers the blog an extension of his studio and in itself a continually evolving work of art. His blog is filled with images of works-in-progress, works finished, studio shots, writing on books he has read, videos and films he has watched, friends who have stopped over and shows he has seen. It's an excellent portrait of a mind and life at work.

Hollingsworth shows internationally at venues including Nicole Klagsburn, New York. Michael Kohn, Los Angeles. Galeria Miguel Marcos, Barcelona and Tomio Koyama, Tokyo.
